ABOUT US!

Lashley Enterprises was originally bought from it's founder in December 1990 by Blades & Williams LTD and subsequently sold to Catford Corporation in March of 2003.

Catford Corporation in turn elected to retain the name Lashley Enterprises as a trading name, given the fact that it had become well established in the Barbados office supplies & stationery market.

The motto "SERVICE IS OUR BUSINESS" originally conceived by Martin E. Hughes in 1990 (as an employee of Blades & Williams LTD) has remained both the motto and mission statement of the company since 1990.This concept has guided all aspects of the development of the business and is a clear and unequivocal endorsement of the old adage "If the clock works, don't fix it".

While the retail of Office Supplies & Stationery is it's actual function, the engine that drives Lashley Enterprises is really nothing more than service. The service factor way exceeds all other aspects of it's operation, and makes very heavy demands on our human capital. Starting with the one-on-one interaction of a staff member taking the "Order" from the customer, through to the assembly, dispatch and timely delivery of the consignment, service is the driving force. Even after all of the aforementioned have been fulfilled, there often remains after sale problem solving, changes and or credits and returns, which demand even further service. In order to maintain this level of service which our customers have come to expect (if not demand) the quality of our human capital cannot be compromised in any way, and we for our part constantly seek to provide you the customer with friendly, polite and accommodating voices on the other end of the telephone line, and friendly helpful and accommodating personal encounters with delivery staff. In seeking to achieve this mandate, the volume of telephone calls always seems to grow exponentially way beyond the actual number of physical transactions, and in a great many cases these calls relate very simply to the description of products, their actual uses and the their various characteristics and components all of which could be far better explained by way of a picture.

Having originally pioneered hard copy catalogue sales in the Barbados marketplace, Lashley Enterprises has now decided to progress to the next level with an Internet based catalogue and shopping cart system, enabling the customer to browse, view and order items or request pro-forma invoices. We have stopped short of actual e-commerce transaction at this stage as our pricing is dynamic and is perpetually changing. This dynamic pricing is a policy we have always maintained as it ensures competitiveness, by way of fair, true and accurate pricing. It is hoped that this Internet option will allow you our valued customer to browse through our virtual inventory and reduce your need to make time consuming queries about products and their characteristics. In addition, it provides you with the opportunity to compile your order at any time on any day of the week, whether Lashley Enterprises is physically open for business or not. For our part, it enables us to instantly change or update products on the internet catalogue site.

Lashley Enterprisescorporate policies have always been driven by the customer's needs and requirements. Ironically, we first initiated this Internet project in 1997,however it was subsequently abandoned as an in-house survey suggested that it was ahead of its time locally, and not enough of the persons vested with the responsibility for ordering office supplies and stationery, had constant and ready access to the internet at work.

Having said all of the above, please take the time to browse through our site at LEIbarbados.com. We at Lashley Enterprises acknowledge that it will be a long and tedious process to refine and streamline this tool, and while we are committed to the process, your suggestions and constructive criticisms will be much appreciated!

Thanking you our valued customer for your support in the past and looking forward to the opportunity to serve you further and better!

Martin E. Hughes Managing Director
